This database contains a survey of complete runs of key 20th Century UK and US magazines, periodicals with a wide circulation that will give a range of political and economic perspectives, but which are not primarily focused on science. The database:
Explores the major themes of popular coverage of science, technology, medicine, engineering, agriculture and environments during the twentieth century.
Examines articles, cartoons, pictures, adverts and other ephemera in order to identify and categorize scientific themes and questions as they emerge.
Chart the changes in the popular contexts in which science/technology was and is framed.
